VICTORIA DUNCAN

R.M.T., D.SC.O. - D.O.M.P., OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER

Victoria studied osteopathy at the Toronto campus of the prestigious Canadian College of Osteopathy. She began her osteopathic education journey in 2006, and successfully defended her post graduate thesis “The effects of osteopathic normalization of the hyoid bone and its immediate attachments" in November 2018". Her clients range from newborns to elderly, weekend warriors to pro athletes. She utilizes cranial sacral, visceral manipulation, myofascial release and joint mobilization techniques to help her clients attain balance and homeostasis to manage not only the ailments and symptoms they present with, but to increases vitality and function of the entire body, mind and spirit. Victoria has taken all three levels of endocranial spasms through the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques de Montréal to further aid specifically with patients with head and brain injuries, as well as an array of emotional and cognitive disorders and issues.

Victoria commenced her alternative health education in 1996, and graduated with honours from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in June 1998, after studying anthropology at the University of Guelph. She has also successfully completed additional training in sports therapy, pregnancy and infant massage, myofascial release and unwinding, Thai massage, bowen therapy, hot stone massage, and endocranial techniques for concussions and brain/head trauma related issues. She is also a life long student of various forms of energy therapies and eastern meditation techniques. Victoria is also a trained Doula (professional labour coach).

Victoria has also completed her yoga teacher training in Baja Mexico at the Yandara Institute in 2010. She enjoys adding the benefits of yoga practice, not only in her daily life, but also by sharing with her clients.

Victoria has successfully completed her certification as a family constellation facilitator. Family Constellation work is a beautiful modality which is woven into her treatments and understanding of epi genetics and generation trauma and how and why people do or don't heal. After years of operating a multi disciplinary clinic in Barrie, Victoria has opted for a home based practise in Kilworthy, Muskoka. She is enjoying a change in pace and raising her daughter amongst the beauty of nature with chickens, too many bunnies, gardens, uninterrupted moon and star light,  their two dogs Togo and Sweetie and black magic cat Knight.  Although the animals do not attend in the treatment area many do live in the house, please let us know if you have any serious allergies ahead of your appointment.
